Hitting the Brain during Phase 1 deals no damage — it is completely invincible while Creepers are alive

Minishark tears through the Creeper swarm in Phase 1 — buy it from the Arms Dealer for 35 Gold. For Phase 2, any high-DPS weapon works since the Brain has 0 defense after Creepers die. Mages should use Space Gun + Meteor Armor. Melee players want Starfury since the stars hit Creepers above.

How do you summon Brain of Cthulhu?

Craft a Bloody Spine at a Crimson Altar using 15 Vertebrae (dropped by Face Monsters and Blood Crawlers in the Crimson). Use it in the Crimson biome. You can also smash 3 Crimson Hearts underground — every third one triggers the boss.

But the Brain itself has only 1000 HP (vs Eater's combined 13,000+), so Phase 2 is fast. Either boss can be beaten at the same gear level — Gold/Platinum Armor with Minishark handles both.
