Zenith Crafting Guide

Complete Crafting Route for the Ultimate Melee Weapon

Zenith Overview

The Zenith is the most powerful melee weapon in Terraria, crafted from 10 swords collected across every stage of the game. With 190 base damage and an extraordinary attack animation that sends all component swords flying at enemies, it trivializes all remaining content. Obtaining it requires defeating Moon Lord and gathering swords from the very beginning (Copper Shortsword) to the final boss. It is the true endgame goal for melee players.

Crafting Tree

1

Early Game Collection

Keep your Copper Shortsword from the start. Find Enchanted Sword, Starfury, and defeat Queen Bee for the Bee Keeper.

2

Craft Night's Edge

Gather Light's Bane/Blood Butcherer, Muramasa, Blade of Grass, and Fiery Greatsword. Combine at a Demon/Crimson Altar.

3

Craft Terra Blade

In Hardmode, craft True Night's Edge and True Excalibur using Broken Hero Swords from Solar Eclipses, then combine them.

4

Post-Plantera Drops

Farm Pumpkin Moon for The Horseman's Blade, trigger Martian Madness for the Influx Waver, and defeat Plantera for the Seedler.

5

Final Assembly

After defeating Moon Lord and obtaining Star Wrath (or Meowmere), combine all 10 swords at a Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil to craft the Zenith.

How to Obtain Each Sword

1
Copper Shortsword

Copper Shortsword

This is your starting weapon given at the beginning of every new character. Simply keep it in your inventory or a chest — do not sell or trash it.

If you accidentally lost it, craft a new one with 5 Copper Bars at any Workbench.
2
Enchanted Sword

Enchanted Sword

Search for Enchanted Sword Shrines underground. These appear as narrow 1-tile-wide vertical shafts from the surface, leading to a small cavern with a sword stuck in stone.

In 1.4+, shrines always contain the real Enchanted Sword (not fakes). You can also fish for Gold/Platinum Crates which may contain one.
3
Bee Keeper

Bee Keeper

Defeat Queen Bee in the Underground Jungle. Summon her by breaking the Larva inside Bee Hives, or craft an Abeemination (5 Honey Blocks, 1 Stinger, 5 Hive Blocks, 1 Bottled Honey).

Queen Bee has a 33% drop chance for Bee Keeper. Build a platform arena inside a Jungle cave for easier combat.
4
Starfury

Starfury

Explore Floating Islands in the sky layer. Starfury is found inside Skyware Chests on these islands.

Use Gravitation Potions to flip gravity and quickly scan the sky. Water Bolt and Space Gun are useful alternatives while searching.
5
Night's Edge

Night's Edge

This is itself a crafted sword requiring 4 component swords: Light's Bane (Corruption) or Blood Butcherer (Crimson), Muramasa (Dungeon), Blade of Grass (Jungle), and Fiery Greatsword (Underworld). Craft at a Demon/Crimson Altar.

This is the most complex Pre-Hardmode craft. Plan your exploration route: Corruption/Crimson → Dungeon → Jungle → Underworld → Altar.
6
Seedler

Seedler

Defeat Plantera in the Underground Jungle. She spawns after you break a Plantera Bulb, which appears after all three Mechanical Bosses are defeated.

Seedler has a 1/7 drop rate. Prepare a large arena with platforms and Teleporters. Plantera enrages outside the Jungle, so fight her underground.
7
Terra Blade

Terra Blade

Requires two crafting sub-trees: True Night's Edge (Night's Edge + Broken Hero Sword) and True Excalibur (Excalibur + Broken Hero Sword). Combine at a Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil.

Broken Hero Swords drop from Mothron during Solar Eclipses (post-Mechanical Bosses). You need 2 total. Excalibur is crafted from 12 Hallowed Bars.
8
The Horseman's Blade

The Horseman's Blade

Dropped by Pumpking, the final boss of the Pumpkin Moon event. Use a Pumpkin Moon Medallion (crafted from Pumpkins, Ectoplasm, and Hallowed Bars) at night to start the event.

Reach wave 15+ for the best drop rates. Use a high-DPS setup with traps and Spectre/Beetle armor.
9
Influx Waver

Influx Waver

Dropped by the Martian Saucer mini-boss during the Martian Madness event. The event triggers when a Martian Probe detects you in the outer two-thirds of the world.

Let the Martian Probe escape after it detects you to trigger the invasion. Focus on destroying the Saucer's turrets first.
10
Star Wrath

Star Wrath

Dropped by Moon Lord with a 1/9 chance. Moon Lord is summoned by defeating all four Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events, or using a Celestial Sigil.

Meowmere (also 1/9 from Moon Lord) works as a substitute. You may need multiple Moon Lord kills. Use the Nurse strategy or a Shrimpy Truffle mount for survivability.

Combat Tips

Unmatched Damage Output

The Zenith deals 190 base damage and swings at insane speed, sending ghostly copies of all 10 component swords at enemies. It can easily reach thousands of DPS, making it the highest damage melee weapon in the game.

Unique Attack Style

Unlike regular swords, Zenith sends its projectile swords flying toward your cursor position. This gives it effectively unlimited range and allows you to attack enemies through walls and in any direction.

Boss Destruction

The Zenith trivializes every boss in the game, including Moon Lord. The swarm of swords provides both immense damage and wide coverage. Combine with the best melee accessories (Mechanical Glove, Fire Gauntlet, Warrior Emblem) for maximum effect.

Endgame Content

Zenith makes all endgame content much easier: Pumpkin Moon, Frost Moon, Old One's Army Tier 3, and Empress of Light (including the daytime fight for Terraprisma). It's the ultimate reward for collecting swords throughout your entire playthrough.

Final Verdict

The Zenith is the ultimate culmination of your Terraria journey — a weapon forged from swords spanning every era of the game. While obtaining all 10 components requires significant effort across Pre-Hardmode, Hardmode, and Post-Moon Lord, the result is the single most powerful weapon in Terraria. Its unmatched damage, unlimited range, and spectacular attack animation make it the definitive reward for dedicated melee players.
