Night's Edge Crafting Guide
Complete Crafting Route for the Strongest Pre-Hardmode Sword
Night's Edge Overview
Night's Edge is the strongest melee weapon available before the Wall of Flesh. It is crafted by combining four swords from different regions of the world. With 40 base damage and autoswing, it's the ultimate weapon for melee players preparing to fight the Wall of Flesh. Obtaining it requires exploring the Corruption/Crimson, Dungeon, Jungle, and Underworld.

Combat Tips
Autoswing Advantage
Night's Edge has autoswing, meaning you can hold the attack button to swing continuously. This greatly improves handling and sustained DPS output.
Wide Attack Arc
Night's Edge has a large swing arc that can hit multiple enemies at once. Take advantage of this in events or scenarios with many enemies grouped together.
Boss Fight Usage
For the Wall of Flesh fight, Night's Edge is the best melee option. Pair it with Molten Armor for the set bonus. Build a long platform bridge in the Underworld for mobility.
Comparison with Other Weapons
Night's Edge (40 damage) far surpasses other Pre-Hardmode swords. By comparison, Fiery Greatsword deals only 36 damage and Blade of Grass only 28. Combined with autoswing, Night's Edge has the highest melee DPS before Hardmode.
