Trigger Mechanics

The Solar Eclipse is a Hardmode daytime event featuring powerful enemies and rare drops:

5% / DayAfter defeating at least one Mechanical Boss, 5% chance each dawn.

Broken Hero SwordCan be manually triggered with a Solar Tablet, found in Jungle Temple chests.

1 Mech BossAfter defeating Plantera, Solar Eclipses add more enemy types (including Mothron).

Enemy Types

Solar Eclipse enemies are movie monster-themed, split into pre and post-Plantera groups:

Swamp Thing — Basic Solar Eclipse enemy with high HP.

Vampire — Can transform into a bat and fly. Drops Moon Stone.

Reaper — A ghost-type enemy that passes through walls. Very dangerous.

Mothron — Post-Plantera only, powerful enemy and the sole source of Broken Hero Sword.

Important Drops

Solar Eclipse drops several valuable items:

Broken Hero Sword — Dropped by Mothron, essential material for crafting Terra Blade.
Moon Stone — Dropped by Vampires, provides multiple stat boosts at night.

Broken Hero Sword Path

Broken Hero Sword is one of the most important crafting materials:
