Late Game Roadmap: Post-Plantera to Moon Lord

From post-Plantera to the final boss — your complete endgame action plan

Moon Lord

Post-Plantera Actions

Defeating Plantera unlocks the most powerful content in the game. Here are your immediate priorities:

Dungeon FarmThe Dungeon is now filled with powerful new enemies dropping Ectoplasm and class-specific weapons. Farm it immediately.
Jungle TempleExplore the Jungle Temple and defeat Golem. He drops Sun Stone, Beetle Husks, and unlocks the Cultist.
Event FarmingPumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events are now available, dropping some of the best weapons and accessories.
Post-Plantera Dungeon enemies are very dangerous. Bring your best gear and consider using a trap-based farm.

Gear Progression Route

Follow this gear path to prepare for the endgame bosses:

Dungeon Weapons — Spectre Staff, Inferno Fork, Shadowbeam Staff, Paladin's Hammer. Essential class upgrades.
Event Farming — Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon drop endgame accessories (Horseman's Blade, North Pole, Razorpine).
Beetle Armor (Melee) / Spectre Armor (Mage) / Shroomite Armor (Ranger) — Best pre-Lunar armor for each class.
Luminite Armor — Crafted from Moon Lord drops. Solar Flare, Vortex, Nebula, and Stardust sets are the ultimate armor.

Boss Challenge Order

Challenge bosses in this order for optimal progression:

Golem — Relatively easy post-Plantera boss. Drops Sun Stone, Eye of the Golem, and Beetle Husks for Beetle Armor.
Duke Fishron (Optional but recommended) — Very challenging but drops amazing weapons (Razorblade Typhoon, Tsunami, Tempest Staff).
Empress of Light (Optional) — Drops Terraprisma if defeated during daytime (one-hit kill challenge). Nighttime fight is more manageable.
Lunatic Cultist — Found at the Dungeon entrance after Golem. Defeating him starts the Lunar Events.
Moon Lord — The final boss. Summoned after destroying all four Celestial Pillars. Drops the strongest items in the game.
Duke Fishron and Empress of Light are optional but their drops significantly help against Moon Lord. Consider fighting them first!

Lunar Events Strategy

The Lunar Events consist of four Celestial Pillars, each with unique enemies and fragments:

Solar Pillar — Melee-themed. Dangerous Crawltipedes attack if you fly. Stay grounded and use ranged weapons to clear.
Vortex Pillar — Ranger-themed. Storm Divers and Alien Queens are the main threats. Relatively straightforward.
Nebula Pillar — Mage-themed. Brain Sucklers and Nebula Floaters. Collect Nebula Boosters for powerful buffs.
Stardust Pillar — Summoner-themed. Star Cells split when killed. Flow Invaders are the biggest threat. Easiest pillar overall.
