Queen Slime Boss Guide
How to summon, fight, and farm Queen Slime for her unique drops
Overview
Queen Slime is an optional Hardmode boss that can be fought anytime after entering Hardmode. She provides excellent early-Hardmode gear and is a good stepping stone before the mechanical bosses.
Summon Queen Slime by using a Gelatin Crystal in the Underground Hallow. The crystal spawns naturally on Pearlstone/Pink Ice blocks in the Underground Hallow biome.

Phase Analysis
Phase 1: Slime Form
Queen Slime hops around and spawns Crystal Slimes, Heavenly Slimes, and Bouncy Slimes. She fires Gelatin Crystals and Regal Gel projectiles.
- Jumping attacks with ground slam
- Crystal Slime minion spawns
- Regal Gel projectiles
Phase 2: Crystal Form (Below 50% HP)
Queen Slime grows wings and becomes more aggressive. She flies and dashes rapidly. Her attacks become faster and she spawns more minions.
- Fast aerial dashes
- Rapid crystal projectiles
- Increased minion spawn rate
- Homing gel attacks
Arena Setup
Queen Slime requires a spacious arena with multiple platform layers for vertical movement during Phase 2.
- Build 3-4 layers of platforms, each 15 blocks apart vertically
- At least 100 blocks wide for horizontal dodging
- Campfires and Heart Lanterns on every level
- Sunflowers for the Happy buff if fighting on the surface
- Keep the arena in the Hallow biome for the summon to work
Class Strategies
Melee
Stay close and use yo-yos for consistent damage while dodging her slams.
Ranger
Crystal Bullets are highly effective. Keep your distance during Phase 2 dashes.
Mage
Golden Shower to debuff then switch to high-DPS magic weapon.
Summoner
Let your summons deal damage while you focus entirely on dodging.
Rewards & Drops
One of the best mid-game mounts. Grants flight and fast ground speed.
Hybrid armor set with dash ability. Good for all classes early Hardmode.
Fast-attacking summoner weapon. Ignores a portion of enemy defense.
Teleportation hook that moves you instantly to the hook point.
Decorative trophy dropped by Queen Slime.
Tips & Tricks
- Queen Slime is optional but highly recommended — her drops are excellent for early Hardmode.
- The Gelatinous Pillion mount alone makes this fight worth doing.
- Crystal Assassin armor provides a dash ability useful for all classes.
- In Phase 2, prioritize horizontal movement to dodge her aerial dashes.
- Gelatin Crystals respawn in the Underground Hallow, so you can farm her repeatedly.
- Expert mode adds no extra drops, so Normal mode farming is more efficient for gear.
