Terraria 1.4.5 Palworld Crossover: Complete Guide — All Pals, Mounts, Collection Difficulty & How to Get

Palworld pals invade Terraria — Cattiva, Foxparks, Digtoise, Chillet & Chillet Ignis: full breakdown, class builds, and tier rankings

Pals Are in Terraria Now?

Terraria 1.4.5 introduces a Palworld crossover collaboration, bringing 5 Pal companions and a vanity set into Terraria. This guide covers every Pal's abilities, best class pairings, collection difficulty rankings, and detailed obtain methods.

Version 1.4.5 "Bigger and Boulder" was released on January 27, 2026 across all platforms (PC, Console, Mobile) simultaneously as a free content update — no DLC purchase required.
Pocketpair (developer of Palworld) and Re-Logic (developer of Terraria) announced a two-way collaboration. Palworld received a Terraria-themed dungeon and Pals, while Terraria gained 5 Pal companions and the Pal Metal vanity set.
This crossover drops 5 Pals into Terraria, and they're all available pre-Hardmode — no waiting, no paywall. Cattiva fights and mines for you, Foxparks switches between single-target fireballs and AoE flamethrower, Digtoise auto-digs tunnels on its own, and Chillet/Chillet Ignis give you a flat +10% weapon damage buff plus dash just by mounting up. The mount alone is endgame-tier for early progression. At least three of these five will become permanent fixtures in your loadout — this isn't a throwaway crossover, it genuinely changes how pre-Hardmode plays.

All 5 Pal Companions Breakdown

The Palworld crossover adds 5 Pal companions and 1 vanity set to Terraria. Pals are categorized as summon weapons (Cattiva, Foxparks), a mining tool (Digtoise), and mounts (Chillet, Chillet Ignis).

Mount

icon
Huge Dragon Egg (Chillet / Chillet Ignis)

Found in the Cavern layer, opens to give either Chillet or Chillet Ignis mount (50/50 chance). While mounted: +10% weapon damage, double-tap to dash (32 base damage), 46 mph top speed. The single most impactful crossover item.

Pal Companions

iconCattivaCattiva
OriginA friendly cat Pal known for carrying resources in Palworld. Appears in Terraria as a summon weapon.
Usage in TerrariaCattiva isn't a DPS machine — 9 base damage won't carry boss fights. But its real value is the auto-mining: 41% pickaxe power (Iron Pickaxe equivalent) working alongside you while it fights. Early-game mining efficiency basically doubles. Works for every class — Summoners get an extra minion plus a miner, everyone else gets a free pickaxe buddy. Probably the first Pal you'll find, and the last one you'll stop using.
Best ClassAll classes (combat + mining utility)
How to GetSpawns during daytime on Grass/Snow/Ice in the outer 3/4 of the world, held by 2 Goblin Archers. Kill the goblins, then approach to collect.
PrerequisiteNone (pre-Hardmode). 0.5% spawn rate, 60% chance to be Cattiva. Detectable by Lifeform Analyzer.
iconFoxparksFoxparks
OriginA fire-element Pal from Palworld known for its flamethrower ability. One of the strongest pre-Hardmode summon weapons in Terraria.
Usage in TerrariaFoxparks is the best thing that can happen to a pre-Hardmode Summoner. Tap for 20-damage fireballs with On Fire! debuff — solid against bosses. Hold attack to switch to flamethrower mode: 15 damage piercing 3 targets, melts dense packs. Nothing in the pre-Hardmode summon pool comes close to this output ceiling. Even non-Summoners will find the AoE flamethrower worth a slot for crowd control.
Best ClassSummoner / Ranged
How to GetSame spawn method as Cattiva — daytime on Grass/Snow/Ice in outer 3/4, held by Goblin Archers.
PrerequisiteNone (pre-Hardmode). 0.5% spawn rate, only 40% chance to be Foxparks (rarer than Cattiva).
iconDigtoiseDigtoise
OriginA turtle Pal from Palworld specializing in excavation. Functions as an automated mining tool in Terraria.
Usage in TerrariaDigtoise doesn't fight — it's a living tunnel boring machine. Place it, click a direction, and it starts rolling, carving out a clean 3-wide tunnel horizontally or vertically. 26% pickaxe power isn't impressive on paper, but the point is it keeps going on its own while you do something else. Pair it with Cattiva for the strongest mining combo in the crossover. If you ever need to dig, build, or clear terrain, Digtoise is worth the trip to the Underground Desert.
Best ClassBuilder / Mining (non-combat)
How to GetFound as Sleeping Digtoise in the Underground Desert. 1/30 (3.33%) chance to replace Antlion Eggs during world generation.
PrerequisiteAccess to Underground Desert. Detectable by Metal Detector and Spelunker buff.
iconChilletChillet
OriginA fast dragon-like Pal from Palworld. Functions as a high-performance mount in Terraria.
Usage in TerrariaMounting Chillet gives you a flat +10% weapon damage boost — melee, ranged, magic, summon, all of it. That's basically a free accessory slot worth of value. 46 mph movement speed is untouchable pre-Hardmode, double-tap to dash for 32 damage to clear trash mobs while traveling, and fall damage gets cut in half. This is the single biggest power spike from the crossover, and your top priority to farm.
Best ClassAll classes (mount)
How to GetHatches from Huge Dragon Egg found in the Cavern layer (50% chance for Chillet).
PrerequisiteAccess to Cavern layer. Limited eggs per world (6 small / 9 medium / 12 large). Detectable by Spelunker buff and Metal Detector.
iconChillet IgnisChillet Ignis
OriginFire variant of Chillet, a Palworld crossover exclusive. Identical stats to Chillet, different appearance (pink).
Usage in TerrariaFunctionally identical to Chillet: +10% weapon damage, 32-damage dash, 46 mph top speed, halved fall damage. Zero hidden differences — just a pink fire-variant skin, crossover exclusive. Use whichever one you hatch first, don't burn limited Dragon Eggs trying to get a specific color.
Best ClassAll classes (mount)
How to GetHatches from Huge Dragon Egg found in the Cavern layer (50% chance for Chillet Ignis).
PrerequisiteSame as Chillet. May need multiple eggs if you want a specific color.

Vanity

icon
Pal Metal Set

Chestplate and leggings vanity set in Palworld metal armor style. No stat bonuses — purely cosmetic. Purchase from Traveling Merchant (10 gold coins) while holding any Pal.

The Pal Metal set consists of a chestplate and leggings, recreating the Palworld metal armor aesthetic. No stat bonuses — purely cosmetic. Purchase from the Traveling Merchant while holding any Pal.

Tips: Cattiva is hands-off — summon it and it automatically mines alongside you, no direction needed. Let it chip away while you explore and you'll save more time than you'd expect. Foxparks is the one that rewards active play — tap for fireballs against single targets, but when Slime Rain or a Goblin Army hits, hold the attack button to switch to flamethrower mode, 15 damage piercing 3 enemies, good positioning clears a whole wave. Digtoise: click to set a direction, and it rolls out a clean 3-wide tunnel, horizontal or vertical. Building a Hellevator or clearing space? Let Digtoise go first and just follow behind picking up ores. Chillet and Chillet Ignis dash attack is double-tap on a movement key — 32 damage, one-shots trash mobs while you're already running. And here's what a lot of people miss: that +10% damage buff applies to all weapon types, including summon damage. Summoners riding Chillet aren't wasting a mount slot — they're maxing their DPS.

Which Pal Fits Your Class?

Each Terraria class benefits differently from the Palworld crossover. Here are our recommended Pal companions for each class playstyle.

Summoner

Foxparks hits 20 damage with a flamethrower for crowd clear — nothing else in pre-Hardmode summons comes close. Cattiva adds another minion plus free mining. Both are summon weapons, so your slots stay full.

Melee

Melee lives in enemies' faces, so Chillet's dash doubles as a gap-closer and the +10% damage makes every swing count. Cattiva chips in with extra hits and mining on the side.

Ranged

Ranged hates getting swarmed — Foxparks' flamethrower covers that blind spot up close. Mount Chillet for +10% on every shot, and dash away when things get tight.

Mage

Mages need mobility more than anything. Chillet's dash fixes positioning, and the +10% buff applies to spells too. Foxparks as backup fire damage when enemies close in.

Builder

Point Digtoise in a direction and it digs a 3-wide tunnel on its own. Cattiva mines alongside you at the same time. Together they out-dig you with a pickaxe, easily.

How to Get Each One

All crossover items are obtainable for free in-game. No real-money purchases required, and everything is available pre-Hardmode.

Cattiva and Foxparks are the most straightforward — run across the outer 3/4 of the world on Grass or Snow during daytime, look for Pals held captive by 2 Goblin Archers, kill the goblins, walk up and grab. They share a 0.5% spawn rate, with Cattiva at 60% and Foxparks at only 40%, so just keep running and you'll find them. Digtoise is underground — it spawns as a Sleeping Digtoise in the Underground Desert with a 1/30 chance to replace Antlion Eggs. The location is fixed at world gen, so pop a Spelunker Potion and sweep the area. Chillet and Chillet Ignis come from Huge Dragon Eggs in the Cavern layer, 50/50 chance each. Eggs are limited per world — 6 small / 9 medium / 12 large — so crack them when you find them. The Pal Metal set is just 10 gold at the Traveling Merchant, only requirement is having any Pal in your inventory. Pure vanity, no stats, buy it whenever the merchant shows up.
Bring a Lifeform Analyzer for Cattiva and Foxparks, Spelunker Potions for Digtoise and Dragon Egg locations. These two tools alone cut your Pal hunting time in half.

Still Got Questions?

Here are the most frequently asked questions about the Terraria 1.4.5 Palworld crossover.

When was the Palworld crossover released?

January 27, 2026, part of the 1.4.5 "Bigger and Boulder" update. All platforms at once, completely free.

Do I need Hardmode to get the Pals?

Nope. All 5 Pals are pre-Hardmode. Cattiva and Foxparks on the surface, Digtoise in the Underground Desert, Chillet/Chillet Ignis from Cavern layer Dragon Eggs. Even the Pal Metal set is just 10 gold from the Traveling Merchant. You can collect everything early.

I can't find Cattiva or Foxparks — what should I do?

0.5% spawn rate is rough, but here's how to speed it up: make sure you're on Grass or Snow in the outer 3/4 of the world, during daytime, and NOT in a Graveyard biome — miss any of these and they won't spawn at all. Equip a Lifeform Analyzer; when a name flashes on screen, drop everything and go. If you're on 1.4.5.3, rates got buffed — should feel noticeably better.

Do I need to own Palworld to access the crossover?

No, it's all free and built into the update.

Is the Chillet mount better than the UFO Mount?

Depends on where you are in the game. Chillet's advantage is early access, +10% all-weapon damage, and a dash that doubles as mob clearing — unmatched ground mobility. The UFO gives flight, but you need post-Martian Madness. Pre-Hardmode? Chillet wins by a mile. Endgame? Most players swap between them depending on the situation.
